The following materials were presented and discussed at the 2019 International Congress of Medieval Studies (ICMS), in the session “Practical Approaches to Teaching Gower,” jointly sponsored by the John Gower Society and TEAMS. Materials relate to teaching Gower in a medieval literature survey seminar (titled In the Olde Dayes: Medieval Texts and Their World) at the University of Aberystwyth. In particular, materails focus on comparing the prologues of Gower’s Confessio Amantis and Chaucer’s Legend of Good Women.
